Hopefully someone with much better knowledge than I will come along and provide a more detailed answer to your question.
You could use a spreadsheet but the Plotter software makes it so easy. Once you have entered your film/developer results in the Plotter it automatically provides a comprehensive set of curves which can be printed for reference. The data produced can be exported to your Palm for field use. Saves a lot of PC time.
